Mayfest 2010

Welcome to Mayfest’10 in Ithaca, our third springtime festival of world-class chamber music with concerts in Cornell’s Barnes Hall and Sage Chapel, as well as the nearby Hay Loft of the Carriage House Café.  This year, we welcome back violist Cynthia Phelps, jazz pianist John Stetch, and Russian bass Alexander Vassiliev, and are treated for the first time to compelling performances by clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein, violinists Mikhail Kopelman and Xiao-Dong Wang, and cellists Steven Doane and Zvi Plesser.  We salute the anniversary years of Schumann and Samuel Barber, and present a lively combination of classics, lesser-known works, a jazz/klezmer jam, and new works written just for us by Cornellians Roberto Sierra and James Matheson.  It is a feast for the ears not to be missed!
